We went to the Fair in St. Malo on Saturday! Turns out a fair in France is identical to a fair in the US. The food is a bit different but equally terrible for you. Similarly, the rides are tacky and way over priced, but alas, the kids had fun. My favorite thing about it was the backdrop. Unlike many of our Fairs that take place in parking lots or empty grass lots- this one took place right outside St. Malo. Now, because I haven't given a great idea of what St. Malo is I've attached a picture below. St. Malo is a city within walls- its ancient- but now its filled with shops, restaurants and apartments. We live in St. Meloir which just a few km from St. Malo (where Laetitia and Christophe are opening a new business).

Now that you have a better idea of what it looks like, maybe you'll find it as comical as I did that this "Atlantic City Casino" attraction was backed against this ancient masterpiece

Okay, I have tried so many times to comment, but I don't think I can do it from my cell and then I just typed this long comment and when I signed in, it erased it all. Grrrr!! I love reading this blog. I often capture unsuspecting listeners so that I can read it aloud to them (they wind up loving it too)!
