My first contribution as an American (and an au pair)

Justine had 2 friends spend the night on Friday for her birthday.  She told me she wanted to do something American and asked me what food I could make for them...I came up with the most un-french thing I could: Rice Crispy Treats and Hamburgers.  They had a blast making them.
The girls and their Rice Crispies! (Half chocolate for Justine)  We had to go to a special grocery store to find the cereal and marshmallows

Louis enjoying his first All-American hamburger (I made them slider-size)

Justine - hamburger complete with American cheese

Even Jean enjoyed his meal

Louis pouted for most of the night (seen here hiding under a blanket) because he wanted to be hanging out with the girls and they wouldn't let him.  Jean refused to let Louis hide

Louis eventually moved under the table in hopes to get away from Jean- but as you can see, that didn't help much.

My favorite thing about this meal was watching Christophe eat a Rice Crispy Treat for the first time, he said "I can feel the kilos coming on!" This statement is particularly hilarious to me because a plate of cheese, chocolate croissants, endless wine and a baguette a day have never phased him...but a Rice Crispy treat makes him worry about his weight? Ohhh man, I love the French.
