Why is Allie all alone?!

Paris!! At last!!! The 4 hour ride was uneventful, everyone had their own electronic device to keep them occupied.  The cutest part of the trip was when Justine pointed to a power line and said "Look! The Eiffel Tower!" and Louis believed her for too many seconds.
The kiddos have never been to Paris before so when we arrived I got to watch them see the Arc de Triumph and the (real) Eiffel Tower for the first time.  Their reactions were priceless and adorable.  My hotel is PERFECT. I have never been so psyched! Its 800 meters from the Eiffel Tower and the road it is on is chalk-full of cafes and restaurants. We arrived around 6ish and it was getting dark so I checked in then grabbed pizza from a place near by.
We took this blurry selfie in the car
Guys. Guess what?! I checked into this hotel all in French! And the woman spoke perfect English but I didn't speak it with her.  I even managed to ask what time breakfast was, where it was and when the local chocolate shop closed (all the important questions) and here is the best part: I understood all of her answers!!! I was so excited at this feat. At one point she said "Thank you!" then apologized and said "Merci!" which means she thinks I can actually speak French! And there was an American checking in next to me and he couldn't figure out how to ask for the Grocery store and I helped him! WOOHOO!   Unfortunately, I still couldn't understand a damn word the lady at market said to me later but hey, baby steps.

I read somewhere, at some point, that the women in Paris only wear black...so this is my selected wardrobe for my visit
Dinner. I have been craving good pizza and hadn't had any in the last 6 weeks so it was a top priority upon arrival.  This stuff definitely hit the spot- it was awesome. And yes, I ate almost the entire pizza. Then I bought that candy for dessert (because nothing is better than eating candy like a child when you don't actually have to share it with children). Also, this Paris trip is going to involve a whole lot of food so it's probably best to withhold judgement on my consumption..I promise I'll go on a few extra runs next week

When the family was dropping me off at my Hotel Louis realized, for the first time, that I was not staying with them and immediately began to get upset, "Why is Allie all alone?!"  He is really worried about my safety and already had his mom text me once - he is precious [sometimes].
